    Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Administrative Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Transportation operations by recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department, and find cost effective solutions on a continuous basis that meet or exceed Gordon Food Service standards. In addition this individual will manage a team of Transportation clerks, payroll coordinators, and administrative support personnel. The days and hours of work for this position are Tuesday- Saturday 7am-4pm and are subject to change due to business needs.




    • Works with other departments to coordinate activities to serve both internal and external customers.
    • Overseeing day to day clerical activities (Improving current processes)
    • Handheld and Scanner Support (Opportunities to take on new/additional business & daily customer evaluations)
    • Working closely with the ATS team, and supporting fundamental communication
    • Credit Council & Shrink Council (Joining current groups to look for opportunities)
    • Pay Verification
    • Safety Coordinating (Incident follow up & Training Support)
    • Tracking Customer issues 
    • Reporting Service issues
    • Completes any additional tasks assigned by the Transportation Manager.



    • Servant Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability in practicing servant leadership by identifying and meeting the legitimate needs of others and influencing them to more fully contribute their resources toward beneficial goals, with character that inspires confidence.
    • Experience with Google suite, excel, and internal software programs are preferred





    • Leadership Skills: ability to assess development potential of staff; ability to explain philosophies and /or demonstrate skills and determine who can demonstrate skills, which develop the knowledge level of staff.
    • Performance Coaching Skills: ability to define expectations, monitor performance of staff, provide positive and constructive feedback concerning performance levels.
    • Listening and Empathy skills: ability to reflect accurately a speaker's content and feelings about content, ability to understand the position and needs of others.
    • Operational Skills: Demonstrated ability in logistics and distribution management understanding and implementing warehousing and transportation system, maximizing efficiency in product flow, and utilizing logistics and distribution technology to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
    • Strategic Skills: Demonstrated ability in strategic and innovative thinking, significant contributions in strategic planning at a senior level, implementing strategic initiatives and challenging status quo thinking.



    • Previous Supervisory experience is preferred
    • Experience working in an effective, results focused team environment
    • Excellent organization skills and time management in dealing with multiple projects and deadlines
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
    • Problem solving abilities that require use of ingenuity and innovation
