    Regional Transportation Manager - Lower Mainland


    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the lower mainland transportation team.  The Regional Transportation Manager contributes to the strategic direction of the transportation team and oversees transportation equipment and personnel.


    Duties and Responsibilities


    Responsibilities include the ability to lead team members modeling Gordon Food Service’s Cornerstone Values. Effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and safety.



    Critical success factors include: creating and maintaining a positive work environment, providing exceptional service to our customers, determining and implementing best practices to improve the customer delivery experience and improving operational efficiencies.


    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels and departments within the organization
    • Great written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Excellent judgment, diplomacy and discretion
    • Familiarity with shipment options, legal issues, government regulations, industry trends, shipping documents and safety procedures
    • Responsibility for preparing budgets and safe operating procedures
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create and measure Key Performance Indicators
    • Business Acumen
    • Ability to implement strategies and key initiatives
    • Ability to create a great team environment with strong coaching skills
    • Proven project management and time management skills
    • Commitment and demonstrated ability to achieve continuous improvement
    • Understanding and experience in transportation
    • Combination of education and supervisory experience
    • Valid Class 1 License
