    Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse activity specific to supporting the Inventory Control Team including but not limited to safety, sanitation, distribution of work assignments, and any other duties as assigned.




    • Mentors, motivates and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them
    • The ability to present the Company and oneself in a positive manner, consistent with the Cornerstone Values of Gordon Food Service.
    • Assists with the safe and cost-effective operation of warehouse activities and processes
    • Assists in the development and enhancement of warehouse procedures.
    • Works closely with all other warehouse departments.
    • Instructs and monitors personnel in use of equipment.
    • Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating appropriate follow-up, including praise and recognition as well as if necessary, disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Management and Human Resources.
    • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
    • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, etc.
    • Maintain peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.
    • Ability to execute tasks in all warehouse environments at the Milton Distribution Centre.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    • Operations & Systems knowledge - experience with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) and WMS fusion is an asset. Familiarity with warehouse safety, flow, sanitation and building maintenance are critical.
    • Driving for results via tactical thinking - must have the ability to positively influence the team to achieve the best results possible through coaching and feedback.
    • Communication & listening - must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

    • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making capabilities with a high focus to detail



    • Some post-secondary education preferred in the required field (ie. APICS)
    • Preferred five (5) years previous warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Knowledge of Inventory and Inventory Control systems (ie. WMS)
