    Transportation Supervisor


    Position Overview


    The successful candidate will be responsible for the direction and leadership of the transportation employees on Vancouver Island. Working closely with the Regional Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor will oversee the safe and efficient operation of the team of Delivery Service Representatives while ensuring that service expectations and standard operating procedures are followed.


    Duties and Responsibilities


    Responsibilities include the ability to lead team members modeling GFS’ Cornerstone Values, effectively and efficiently managing the development and direction of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and safety while promoting high quality customer satisfaction and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with organizational operations. Critical success factors include creating and maintaining an exceptional climate with team members, determining and implementing best practices that translate into flawless customer service, POP results, and implementing new technologies and processes to improve operational efficiencies.


    Required Skills and Qualifications


    • Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver's abstract
    • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels and departments within the organization
    • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Excellent judgment, diplomacy and discretion
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create and measure key performance indicators
    • Ability to implement strategies and key initiatives
    • Ability to create a great team environment with strong coaching skills and leading by example
    • Proven project management and time management skills
    • Commitment and demonstrated ability to achieve continuous improvement
    • Previous supervisory or leadhand experience preferred
    • Experience with scheduling and payroll is an asset
