    Human Resources Generalist - Recruitment


    Position Overview

    The Human Resources Generalist - Recruitment is responsible for providing a full range of confidential and professional HR support services to all employees at Gordon Food Service BC.  Additionally, they are a recruitment specialist that reinforces our culture and values through the selection, retention and development of the best people. This position is part of a 9-person HR department and reports to the Director of Human Resources.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    This position will also perform the tasks listed below, but not limited to:

    • Represent Gordon Food Service as an ambassador and ensure a high-quality employee experience throughout all employee interactions
    • Coordinate and develop HR projects and initiatives to serve the organization
    • Assist, facilitate and coordinate internal and external training and information sessions for employees and leadership
    • Deliver all facets of the recruiting process throughout the organization including advertising, screening, interviewing and selection
    • Attend recruitment planning meetings with Operations
    • Manage the new hire orientation sessions
    • Assist with various HR functions, events and programs
    • Propose continual process improvements to the human resources standard operating procedures

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels and departments within the organization
    • A proven track record in recruiting and retaining high-quality people
    • Proven experience with various advertising and social media platforms
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable presenting training materials to audiences of various sizes
    • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
    • Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Worker Compensation Act and other legislative requirements in BC
    • Excellent judgment, diplomacy, and discretion
    • Strong computer skills  and experience working in Google suite
    • Good working knowledge of human resources information systems
    • 2 plus years of experience in a generalist role or a similar role in a Human Resources department
    • Relevant education and experience in Human Resources Management
    • CPHR designation is an asset
